I'm really sorry if I wasted your time on this issue, however I'm posting the solution for future reference.
#Cisco anyconnect vpn windows 7 update
I solved by asking the company to retrieve a more update version of the vpn software. My physical machine had Anyconnect installed with the very same setup, but 4 months ago, thus at the time, the installer wasn't really obsolete. unfortunately, my company provided me with an obsolete installer, unable to connect and, therefore, to update itself to a working level. Looks like the server is up and reachable.Īs previously pointed out by Scottgus1, the problem was not inherent to my configuration or a virtualbox component.Īnyconnect, when connected, downloads the most updated version of itself. If you can ping even one way into or out of the guest, then the Virtualbox network is working and the problem connecting the Cisco device/service is caused by something else not related to Virtualbox. Make sure Ping (ICMP Echo Request) is enabled in the guest's Windows firewall, and try pinging from the host and another computer on the network to the guest. (If your guest OS has been set to static IP address, let the IP address be dynamic for this test, to see what IP address the LAN wants to give the guest.)Īlso check that you can ping from the guest to the host and other things on the network (like the gateway IP address) and the Internet (try Google, 8.8.8.8 ). For example, if all the computers on your LAN have 192.168.1.# IP addresses, your guest should have 192.168.1.# IP address too. Bridged is supposed to allow the guest to be on the LAN with the other computers, see Virtualbox Networks: In Pictures: Bridged Adapter, note the problem with Wi-Fi, if your host is attached to the LAN via Wi-fi.Ĭheck that your guest gets the same IP address range as the host and the network.
